Nottingham Baby Photography {Florence 11 Days New}

May 19th, 2012

I am sharing a few images from a newborn session I did last week of the lovely little Florence. Florence was 11 days old for this session so slightly older than I would usually photograph a baby for a newborn session however I have to say that Florence was lovely to work with. When Florence first arrived for her session she was wide awake & very alert & it took a little time for her to fall to sleep but once she had fallen asleep she was a dream to work with. I even had help from Florence’s older sister picking out which cute little headbands & wraps to use on her which was sweet.

I hope you enjoy checking out a small selection of images that I took & if you need any further information in regards to Newborn Portrait Sessions then please feel free to contact me on: emma@emmawilsher.co.uk

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Nottingham Family Portrait Photography {Beardsmore Family}

May 17th, 2012

I recently had the chance to do a photo shoot of my younger sister & her adorable family over at Wollaton Park. The session was lots of fun & it was great being able to spend some time with them all, as well as capturing some lovely portraits for them. I really enjoy being out on location with families for portrait sessions, I love the fact that children can run & explore & feel less restricted by this type of shoot.

If you would like further information regarding Family Portrait Sessions then please contact Emma: emma@emmawilsher.co.uk

Enjoy checking out a few of the images!

Nottingham Portrait Photography ~John & Val

May 15th, 2012

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing John & Val who booked in for one of the Mini Portrait Sessions with me over at Wollaton Park. I have to say the weather was just lovely, we had blue skies & sunshine which was a welcome break from all the recent rain we’ve been having lately. It was really pleasant to walk around part of the beautiful grounds with John & Val & to take some lovely portraits of them together. Val told me that that this year was a special year for her & so she had decided to do some things to mark this & I think it was a lovely idea that one of the things she wanted to do was to have a portrait session with her husband.

So here are some images from the Mini Session.

Nottingham Baby Photography {Morgan 6 Weeks Old}

May 4th, 2012

Just sharing a session that I did last week of 6 week old baby Morgan. This little guy was particularly content throughout the session although wide awake for most of it, he was happily taking in everything that was happening around him. It always amazes me how quickly babies grown & develop especially in those first few weeks of life, they continually change day by day & grow within the blink of an eye. It is for this reason that I love to photograph babies while they are so young, there is something magical about capturing those first few weeks of life, those first smiles, the little feet, those tiny fingers, the way they connect with a parent is just amazing & as a photographer it’s a real privilege to be able to record those details & moments for families to look back on for years to come.

So here are a few images from Morgan’s Portrait Session last week.

Wall Presentation & Image Size

April 27th, 2012

So you’ve had a fun portrait session & it’s now time to order some images, but what size portrait do you order for your wall?

If like many people you struggle to know what image size would be good for a wall presentation then this blog post is for you.

A 10×8 image is typically seen as a standard enlargement size for most people however if you look at the image below, you will start to get a sense of just how small a 10×8 image is, particularly if you intend to purchase this size print for a wall presentation. 10×8 images work well for framed desk prints but you have to start thinking a whole lot bigger if you intend to display images on your wall to create a visual  impact.

Choosing the right size portrait for your wall will be dependant upon the available wall space you have to fill & obviously it also depends on what image configuration you would like & the end result you are aiming to achieve. If you are choosing 3 images to be presented together for instance then you may be able to go with 3 slightly smaller images but I suggest these are matted to make the overall image look slightly bigger when presented. Of course if you are are going for a single image above a fireplace or sofa then you really need to be looking at the bigger enlargements as explained.

I am happy to offer any of my clients advice regarding image presentation, so if you are unsure of how to present images from your session please let me know & I can arrange a free consultation with you. At Emma Wilsher Photography I offer a range of beautifully selected products  which are carefully created by skilled craftsmen using high quality materials, so you can rest assured that you will be receiving a quality product that will last for years to come.

I hope this blog post has been helpful & should you need any further advice on the endless possibilities that can be achieved with image presentation then please do get in touch. emma@emmawilsher.co.uk

Nottingham Baby Photography {Gracie 6 Days New}

April 11th, 2012

Today I have little Gracie featuring on the blog, a 6 day new adorable baby girl with the cutest head of hair you ever did see! I think Gracie was totally adorable & it was a priviledge to be able to take some images of her in her first few days of life. Gracie was pretty relaxed throughout the session & was happy to snuggle down into the posing nest even though she wasn’t fully asleep at the beginning of the shoot.

I hope you enjoy checking out just a small preview of the images I took of Gracie & if you’re interested in booking a Newborn Portrait session then please get in touch by sending me a message to emma@emmawilsher.co.uk

Nottingham Baby Photography {Lucy 9 Weeks Old}

March 15th, 2012

I promised I would be blogging about some recent baby sessions so here we go…

Meet Lucy a sweet 9 week old baby girl who was very relaxed for her Portrait Session. She was happy to sit & watch what I was doing with my camera & seemed very intrigued by it. This was Lucy’s first portrait session with me on the Baby’s First Year Photography Plan that I offer & I very much look forward to photographing Lucy in the upcoming months to see how much she grows & changes in her first year. For the first session we also had the pleasure of Grandma & Grandad being there before they left to head back to their home by the sea, so we managed to get them involved in the fun for a few shots before I left.

It was a real pleasure to meet Lucy & her lovely family & I hope they enjoy viewing a small selection of the images I took on that day.

Nottingham Newborn Portrait Photography

March 15th, 2012

Recently I have been busy photographing some lovely Newborn Portrait Sessions in & around the Nottingham area. It has been a privilege to document these tiny babies in their first few days of life & to meet with their wonderful families. Baby’s grow so quickly & change each day, so the ideal time for a newborn portrait session is within the first 10 days of baby being born. The session usually takes place within the comfort of your own home, so no need to travel! I find this works best as baby seems more relaxed as do Mum & Dad especially in those early days after baby arrives.

If you are interested in booking a Newborn Portrait Session then please feel free to email me on: emma@emmawilsher.co.uk

Now I get to share a small selection of images from a Newborn Session of Gideon, doesn’t this little guy look so cute?

Enjoy checking out a few images & keep checking out the blog as I have more sessions to add over the next few days!
